About me
I have always enjoyed writing but a busy life stopped me for many years. I live on the English Welsh borders in a village in very beautiful part of the countryside. Wonderful walks and amazing Castles, houses and the wonderful Hereford Cathedral are all with a short drive of my home. History has been a major part of my leisure time for many years, being a long time member of the Sealed Knot Society .

This is an excellent debut novel from Julia Sutherland. Gripping and emotive, it tells the story of the challenges faced by a young man commanding a tank during the Second World War. Powerful descriptions of the D-day Normandy landings perfectly conjure up what it must have been like. The horrors and deprivations of war are softened by the love stories intertwined in the novel. A well-written and sensitive book that will stay in the mind long afterwards. A very good and engaging read. I highly recommend it.
